'Biased investigation' reason for new independent inquiry into allegations of bullying and sexual misconduct aboard HMAS Success

Investigations must not only be unbiased but be free from the perception of bias  to ensure procedural fairness. Both the Lohse V Arthur and the HMAS Success cases highlight the need for continued vigilance. INDEPENDENCE was a key issue in both these cases.

What is PEACE?

PEACE  - an acronym for Investigative Interviewing

So you've heard of PEACE but dont really know what it is? 

The letters stand for five stages of an investigative Interview. First developed in the UK by the Home Office the model was first rolled out across the UK in 1994. Since then it has been subject to rigorous testing and continues to be taught across the world as the primary model for conducting interviews.

E - Engage and Explain

A - Account

C - Closure

E - Evaluation
